Enchantment

 A very old idol of Devi Annapoorna is returning to India from Canada. It is indubitably a proud moment for all of us. But is it not a irony that the people who are responsible for food in our plates( the real Annapoornas) , are on roads and are not allowed to enter Delhi, water cannons and tear gas are being used to disperse them. Isn't it their right to protest? Can't they express their dissent to the government?  If the farm laws are in favour of farmers then it is government's responsibility to assure farmers of new rights and opportunities which will be provided by these laws. But unfortunately government is trying to suppress the movement instead of hearing their plight and concerns and clearing their doubts. Lack of communication between people and government is not good for democracy because democratic government is of the people, by the people and for the people.
