Bid Adieu 2021

2021 has come to an end. Let's have a quick recap of all the events that happened in 2021 in a sequential manner starting from January, then February and so on. It sounds familiar, isn't it? Yeah this is a trending reel and i am sure most of you would have already started humming that song in your mind.

So let's start and don't expect it to be an 'Everything is fine' ride.

January-

•A comedian was arrested for an imaginary joke because some people think that they have 'Right to get offended by a specific community or religion'.
Do i have to tell his name? I don't think so.

•It has been 3 months since farmers are protesting against farm laws and staying at Tikri border inspite of the Delhi's chilled winters and government atrocities.

•Vaccination drive has been started for healthcare workers, frontline warriors and people over 50 years of age.

Though the police has not been able to prove the charges yet(Nov 2021)

•PM Narendra Modi has announced victory over Covid 19 with meager number of vaccinated people in the country of 1.39 billion.

•India ranked 139 out of 149 countries in UN's World Happiness Report 2021.
We are unhappier  than Pakistan's people, a moment to applaud!

April-

•Haridwar Kumbh mela has been started from 1st April . Uttarakhand govt has announced that RT -PCR test is mandatory for devotees.
But you are in India, rules are made to be broken.

•India's massive COVID-19 surge.
People are unable to find hospital beds, oxygen cylinders and Remdesivir injections.
There is an atmosphere of fear, hopelessness and gloom everywhere just because govt had other priorities.

•World press freedom index-
India is ranked 142nd out of 180 countries.
There is no need to say anything as the rank is self explanatory that where we are heading to.

May-

•Mamata Banerjee has won the Bengal assembly elections.

•Corpses have been found floating in the Ganges.
The situation is so out of control and grievous that deceased are not even getting proper cremation but government has turned a blind eye to its failures.

June-

•Petrol, Diesel prices crossed the 100 mark across the country.
Prudent way to curb pollution!

•Employment rate continues to fall: Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy(CMIE)
The employment rate fell from 35.3 per cent in May 2021 to 33.9 per cent in June 2021.

July-

•Rajasthan public service commission (RPSC) has finally declared the results of RAS 2018 exam after a long period of 3 years. The time within UPSC and UPPSC has conducted CSE and PCS 4 times respectively.

•2020 Summer Olympics has begun in Tokyo on 23rd july.
India has got its first medal. Mirabai chanu won India's first ever silver medal in Women's weightlifting (49 kg).

August-

•India finished with record seven medals at Tokyo Olympics with Neeraj Chopra's gold in Javelin throw on penultimate day.

•Taliban has captured Afghanistan after twenty years.

•India has celebrated its 75th independence day.
The independence from press freedom, from right to religious freedom, from right to dissent, from right to freedom of expression and so on.

•Madhya Pradesh:
~A Muslim man beaten up for selling bangles in Hindu locality.
~A Muslim scrapper was forced to chant 'Jai shree ram'.
Will you be fine to live in a country where religion, caste, creed and gender are above humanity, equality, individualism and freedom? The choice is yours.

September-

•Berojgar mahaandolan: Police has arrested Upen Yadav, the president of Rajasthan berojgar ekikrat mahasangh.
Unemployed youths or government job aspirants in Rajasthan were going to protest against irregularities and delays in conducting exams on 30th September.
We are a nation of 'Unemployed Literate Youths' but we should cheer the fact that we have the highest number of youths in the world.

October-

•Lakhimpur kheri violence: Three cars rammed into a crowd of protesting farmers in Uttar Pradesh.

•India ranked 101 in the Global Hunger Index out of 116 countries.
'Acche din aane wale h'

November-

•Farm laws have been taken back after a year of farmers' protest. A big victory for farmers and democracy.
Indian media thanked PM Modi for repealing farm laws as he is so concerned about peole of the country. Where was he when a car carrying BJP workers knocked down the farmers?

December-

•World Inequality Report 2021: The top 1% of India’s population earned more than one-fifth (21.7%) of the country’s total national income in 2021, while the bottom 50% made just 13.1% of the money.
'Sabka saath, sabka vikas'

•PM Modi inaugurated Kashi- Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi. The photographs from the event depicts the 'larger than life' image of Narendra Modi.
Should we appreciate that the PM of a secular country is promoting one religion and manifesting yourself as the Hindutva leader?
There was a Nehru who hails dams, power projects, steel factories and also IITs, AIIMs, BARC, TIFR, DRDO as Modern temples of India and then there is Modi who is literally building temples and exhibiting them as the real development of the country. Bravo!!

Delhi Police lathi-charged on resident doctors who were protesting over delayed NEET-PG counselling.
What are they protesting for? Enough doctors in hospitals, work-life balance. Is that too much to ask for? Is it fair to overburden them with work and then expect better healthcare services from them?

Readers would call me biased or pessimistic, but this is what common people is going through which no Indian media cares to show. They are just expert in bringing any issue under the ambit of Hindu-Muslim or India-Pakistan.

As we are entering 2022, we can just hope for the best. Bid adieu 2021!
